How MayfairCasino.com is written
MayfairCasino.com is an independent guide to online casinos, operated from the UK by New World Gaming Limited. We're not a gambling operator. We don't accept bets, hold player funds, or run any games. This page explains who writes the site, where the bylines come from, what sources we use, and how to flag a mistake.
Bylines and personas
Three bylines appear on this site. All three are house editorial personas. None of them is a single private individual. The team behind them is a small editorial group employed or contracted by New World Gaming Limited. We disclose this openly because it's the honest position and because pretending otherwise insults the reader.
- Annabel Cavendish is the sitewide editorial pen name. She writes the lessons in the Mayfair Casino School, the venue guides, the heritage pieces, and the bookmaker reviews. The voice is consistent because the editorial standards are consistent: contractions throughout, no em dashes, plain numerate English, real citations, named venues, named edges, named years.
- Dr Helena Marchant is the byline for the tools section: house-edge calculators, RTP and variance explainers, statistical methodology pages. She's the persona under which we publish the mathematical material on the site.
- Bea Lyon is the on-site chat tutor available at /school/ask-bea/ and from the chat widget. She doesn't write articles or reviews. She's a tutor trained on Annabel's lessons, with the same editorial standards applied to the responses she gives.
If you want to contact the editor behind these personas, email [email protected] and a real human will reply.
How we conduct reviews
For each operator we review, the editorial process is:
- Licence check. For UK reviews, we verify the operator's UKGC licence number on the UKGC public register and record the registered company. For international, crypto, and US sweepstakes reviews, we verify the regulator named in the operator's footer (Curacao GCB, Anjouan, Isle of Man, Malta, Tribal, etc.) against that regulator's published list where one is available.
- Account registration and KYC. An editor registers an account on the operator's UK site (or international site, depending on jurisdiction) using their own details, and completes any required identity verification.
- Lobby walk. The editor records what software providers are present, how many tables are live on the live-casino floor at peak UK hours, and what the slots library looks like.
- Deposit, play, withdraw. The editor deposits a real amount, plays a session, and requests a withdrawal of part of the balance. The full round trip time is recorded.
- Terms read. The bonus T&Cs are read in full and the headline restrictions (wagering, max conversion, game weighting, max bet during wagering) are recorded.
- Re-check. Each UK review is re-checked at least every six months. Reviews are dated on the page.
Ratings are editorial and not influenced by commercial arrangements. Where we have a commercial relationship with an operator, the review carries the standard affiliate disclosure in the footer.
Sourcing standards
Where a page makes a specific claim about an edge, a rule, a regulator's position, a venue, a closure, or a historical event, we link to a first-party source: the casino's own published rules, the regulator's published guidance, the manufacturer's product page, the legislative record, the court judgment. We don't invent URLs and we don't link to dead pages. Where a primary source isn't available, we either drop the claim or qualify it openly.
Edges, RTPs, and percentages are quoted to the precision the source supports and tied to the variant or table-rules set they apply to. We don't quote a single number across variants where the maths is different.
AI use disclosure
We use generative AI as an editorial tool, not as a publisher. AI helps with drafting, editing, fact-checking against verified canon, and consistency enforcement (for example, catching banned phrases and dash misuse). Every page on the site is edited and signed off by a human editor before publication, with the source links and factual claims human-verified. We don't publish AI-generated material unread. If you suspect a page is wrong, write to [email protected] and we'll re-check it.
AI training crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, CCBot, Bytespider, PerplexityBot, cohere-ai, Meta-ExternalAgent, FacebookBot) are blocked in our robots.txt. Search crawlers and AI search bots (Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot, Applebot-Extended) are allowed because they send readers back to the site with attribution.
Jurisdiction labelling
The site is divided into jurisdictionally separate review sections. UK reviews cover UKGC-licensed operators that British players can lawfully use. International reviews cover offshore-licensed operators (Curacao, Anjouan, Malta MGA, Isle of Man) that are not available to Great Britain players. Crypto reviews cover operators that settle on-chain. US sweepstakes reviews cover sweepstakes-model casinos that operate under US state-level sweepstakes law, not gambling licences. Every review carries a jurisdiction banner at the top of the page making clear which framework applies and what protections do and don't come with it.
Affiliate disclosure
We earn a commission when readers open accounts through links on this site. This is standard for the comparison and review category. It doesn't affect editorial ratings, doesn't determine which operators are reviewed, and doesn't determine the ranking on the reviews hub. Operators we rate poorly aren't quietly dropped from the site; we publish the bad reviews too. The list of operators with whom we have a current commercial relationship is rotated and is recorded against each review.
Corrections and complaints
If something on the site is wrong, please email [email protected] with a link to the page and the correction. We try to acknowledge within two working days and fix within five. Substantive corrections are noted in the page's update line at the foot of the article.
If you have a complaint about a licensed operator, contact the operator directly first. If it can't be resolved, escalate to the Alternative Dispute Resolution provider named in their terms, or contact the UK Gambling Commission. For free, confidential gambling support, contact BeGambleAware on 0808 8020 133 or GamCare.
